Events and Activities

As well as our weekly meetings, there are regular events that we organise each year. Some of these raise important funds to help maintain our HQ or support activities. We send out messages in advance about these events via email and OSM.

These events are run by our Leaders and/or Executive committee, and as parents, we’d love to have you involved.

Group Camp: takes place over a weekend in March. As the name suggests, it brings all of our sections -  Beavers, Cubs and Scouts together at one campsite. A small number of parents join us, too. We usually use Walter Davies campsite at Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire which is a 30 minute drive from Ealing. There are lots of activities planned. It’s always great fun and well attended, so do make sure you book in advance to secure a place.

Christmas Cream Tea or BBQ: a fund raising event taking place in December where family and friends can join a seasonal event with lots of tasty food and activities.

Community Day in Montpelier Park: Another fundraiser, usually in early May in the park next to our HQ. There are demonstrations of Scouting skills, outdoor activities as well as lots of games, stalls and competitions.  In addition, there is copious amounts of cake and homemake lemonade!

Camps and sleepover: Each section will also usually offer at least one or more opportunities each year for an overnight trip. In addition, for Scouts, the highlight of the year is summer camp which is usually 10 days.

Annual General Meeting: this is a legal requirement but also a great chance to get together. It is usually held in late September. We elect a new committee, with positions such as Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer who oversee the running and activies of the group.

The fund raising activities and the group camp take place because of the dedication of our parents. We really hope you are able to give up a little of your time, just once or twice a year, to help support the Group.

We do try to keep the cost of camps, activities, uniform and other kit to a minimum, but appreciate that these request can sometimes mount up.

Financial support is available. Please speak to your Leader, in confidence, and we will do our very best to support you.
